Microsoft Unveils Premium AI Features in Microsoft 365

Microsoft has officially introduced Microsoft 365 Premium, a new subscription service that merges Copilot Pro and Microsoft 365 Family into a single offering priced at $19.99 per month. This move positions Microsoft competitively against OpenAI's ChatGPT Plus, targeting individual users and professionals seeking advanced AI-driven productivity tools.

Enhanced Productivity with AI Integration

According to Gareth Oystryk, Director of Marketing for Microsoft Copilot Pro and Microsoft 365 Advanced, this subscription is designed to be the most robust AI and office productivity solution available for individual users. Subscribers will gain access to integrated office software and Copilot, along with elevated AI usage limits and exclusive features.

The Microsoft 365 Premium subscription unlocks a suite of AI capabilities, including:

  • GPT-4o image generation
  • Voice interaction
  • Copilot Podcasts
  • Deep Research
  • Vision and Actions

Additionally, users will benefit from all the perks of Microsoft 365 Family, such as 1TB of cloud storage per user and shared Office desktop applications for up to six people.

Expanding AI Capabilities Across Office Tools

Notably, Microsoft announced that Researcher and Analyst reasoning agents will be available to Premium users. These features will debut in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, further enhancing the utility of these applications.

In a significant shift, Microsoft now allows personal and family subscription users to enable Copilot AI features in enterprise environments. Users can simply log in to office software using their personal Microsoft account to enjoy the AI experience while maintaining enterprise-level data protection and compliance security.
