SenseTime Launches AI Chess Robot for Kids with JD.com Collaboration

SenseTime's home robot brand MetaRubik SenseRobot has unveiled its latest innovation: the AI Chess Robot Edition Five-in-One, developed in collaboration with JD.com. This marks the first consumer smart hardware product in JD.com's Joy Inside series, targeting children between ages 3 and 12.

The robot serves as both a chess instructor and AI companion, teaching five classic games: Chinese chess, Go, international chess, checkers, and Gomoku. Powered by JD.com's role-based large language model, it engages children with interactive dialogue while providing educational content across subjects like science and history.

Beyond chess instruction, the device functions as a full-subject tutor, answering academic questions and offering real-time English language practice. Its upgraded version now includes international checkers alongside the original four games. The built-in professional courses help young players master fundamentals quickly.

"This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to bringing cutting-edge technology into family homes," a MetaRubik representative stated. The collaboration merges JD.com's e-commerce platform with SenseTime's AI expertise to create engaging learning experiences.

Currently available exclusively on JD.com, the robot retails for 3,299 yuan with a 300-yuan discount during pre-sales, bringing the final price to 2,999 yuan. Parents seeking educational toys that combine entertainment with skill development may find this product particularly appealing as it bridges playtime with learning opportunities.
