Google Unveils AI Marketing Tool Pomelli for SMBs

Google Launches AI Marketing Tool Pomelli

Google Labs and DeepMind have introduced Pomelli, an experimental AI tool now in public beta across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), Pomelli streamlines social media marketing by analyzing website content to generate brand-aligned campaigns.

How Pomelli Works

The tool's core feature is its "Business DNA" analysis, which extracts key brand elements—such as color schemes, fonts, imagery styles, and tone—from a website URL. This ensures marketing materials maintain brand consistency, a common challenge with traditional tools.

Three-Step Process:

  1. Brand Analysis: Pomelli scans websites and existing images to create a comprehensive brand profile without manual input.
  2. Creative Generation: The AI suggests tailored campaign ideas based on the brand DNA or allows custom prompts.
  3. Asset Output: The tool produces ready-to-use materials like social posts and banners, optimized for multi-channel distribution.

Market Impact

Pomelli enters the $50 billion marketing automation market, directly competing with Adobe and Canva. Unlike these platforms, which often require professional expertise, Pomelli offers end-to-end automation powered by DeepMind's AI. Industry projections estimate marketing automation spending will reach $25.1 billion by 2030, with Pomelli poised to accelerate adoption among SMBs.

Availability and Future Plans

The tool is currently available only in English during its beta phase. Google plans future expansions, including multilingual support and video analysis integration, positioning Pomelli as a "virtual marketing department" for SMBs.

Key Points:

  • Automates brand-aligned marketing content creation.
  • Competes with Adobe and Canva but requires no design expertise.
  • Public beta live in select English-speaking countries.
  • Future updates may include multilingual capabilities.
